Friday 21st February
One of the benefits of Vilanova Park is that two buses run from right outside reception. An hourly bus to Barcelona, which takes about 50 minutes and drops you in Plaza España – central Barcelona. The other goes round the houses a little but, eventually, reaches the beach resort of Vilanova i la Geltrú.
We set off on the Barcelona bus, initially the only people onboard. It cost something like €5 return – brilliant deal.
We strolled down La Rambla and branched off into Plaça Reial for a coffee; then continued down La Rambla and on to the Maritime Rambla; amazed by the super-large ‘yachts’ moored nearby; walked on to the promenade and as far as The Arts Hotel; bought a sandwich lunch which we ate facing away from the sea! It was pretty hot and we walked a long way. It’s tough being a tourist!
So it’s JW’s last evening with me – I think he’s had a nice time. I certainly have. He even agrees to drinks outside, so a small Prosecco and dinner in the motorhome.
