Laundry and Cleaning Day

Sunday 23rd February

It’s been 9 days on the road, so time to catch up with the laundry and cleaning.

The washing machines on site costs €5 a go, but it includes the washing powder and takes a big load. I can now see I need to plan my wardrobe to either wear light or dark clothes to make a full wash, rather than wasting money on a half-load! Tumble dryers are only €3 and are capacious. The timing given on the display – 45 minutes for a normal load – bears no resemblance to actual time. At least they have chairs where you can sit and wait!

It’s test of one’s technical ability to operate the washing machine – adding your token, choosing the programme and pressing go!

For big trips I borrow the whirly from the caravan – it is known as Roysey (yup, no idea why!) – and, although there is more sun/wind towards the front of the pitch, I feel it may be better not to have my underwear billowing so close to other caravanners/motorhomers passing by!

‘Roysey’ well stocked with clean laundry

The other rather grim cleaning job is the pigeon poo which is heavily splattered across a roof light, which I can’t reach, down the side of the motorhome and on the groundsheet and gravel. Ewwww – there is a detailed photo but I have decided not to share!! 🐦💩
