Sunday 15th March
That’s it, the Foreign Office have advised no travel to Spain except for essential visits.
Radio 4 announced EasyJet are stopping flying to Spain tomorrow, except for ‘rescue flights’, so Em will get her money back.
Then, at 10.30 a.m. local time the Guardia Civil (Spanish Police) arrive at Playa Tropicana and broadcast a message on loudspeaker to the site. The Spanish are calling their lockdown a ‘State of Alarm’.

With immediate effect, no-one is allowed to leave the site except to shop for food or medicine; you will not even be allowed to step out of the gate on to the beach. If you go shopping you can only go singly. You are not allowed out to exercise. There are fines for anyone not obeying the rules (not guidelines!), e.g. €500 for two people in a car.
The situation became suddenly very real and rather scary.

Husband can no longer travel to Spain………… we tentatively suggest he travels to Perpignan and we rendezvous there for the journey home.
